Serving as the standard engine for the lineup under the hood of the GT and GT Plus trims is Dodge's new Hurricane4 engine, which is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Hornet's nine-speed automatic transmission powers an advanced all-wheel-drive system that uses active torque vectoring to provide enhanced handling. This is done by increasing torque to the outside wheels when going through a corner and limiting torque to the inside wheels.
